I’ve been in the mortgage industry since high school when a friend convinced me a telemarketing job was the answer to my financial woes. My buddies made it about three months peddling refi apps; I’ve never left the profession. Full disclosure, my BA in English has proven useless beyond a few persuasive essays penned for underwriters. I really like my job and I love doing it at Orion Lending. We have, hands down, the best backroom in the business and our technology is amazing. I’ve been lucky enough to partner with Ryan Behrmann as Account Manager too. You’ll see what I mean the second you meet him.
It’s simple to use 27 years of experience to structure the hard ones and fun to figure out new ways to do it even after all this time. A fantastic part of being in the same industry for so long is getting to see your friends prosper as well. Individual success in the mortgage industry is contingent upon having a strong team, if you’re playing with the right people, it’s virtually a guarantee. I want us to share knowledge, so we are all thriving at what we do.
When not reviewing loan scenarios I’m yelling at a high school senior to get out of bed, am into spinning, watch HGTV, have a crazy mostly- Irish- wolfhound named Finn, a Mercedes named Janis, and quite recently discovered I really like brewing beer. My passion project is in the rare disease space where I’m direct www.chasethecure.net, a 501c3 dedicated to raising funding for research into Niemann Pick Type C.
